Kind of silly problem...

Hey guys,
Look, before you all start laughing :p, I\'m not an experienced linux user, just some one who knows a bit about computers and is trying to use linux decently ;)

The thing is, I kind of screwed up my amaroK... I was using the 1.1 version which shipped with my Mandrake distro and I wanted to update, so I downloaded the 1.3 version, but it needed like 5 rpm packages that I either hadn\'t installed or that had become too old, so i fetched these from about everywhere, and then those packages needed other packages too so that kept me busy for a while, but now i have everything. So i installed 1.3 but it wouldn\'t start. When called from terminal it gave the following bug(s):

(process:24069): libtranslate-WARNING **: unable to load module \"/usr/lib/libtranslate/modules/generic.so\": /usr/lib/libtranslate/modules/generic.so: undefined symbol: g_return_if_fail_warning
QLayout: Adding KToolBar/mainToolBar (child of QVBox/unnamed) to layout for PlaylistWindow/PlaylistWindow
QMetaObject::findSignal:CollectionView: Conflict with QListView::doubleClicked(QListViewItem*,const QPoint&,int)
amarokapp: symbol lookup error: amarokapp: undefined symbol: _ZN13KListViewItem10insertItemEP13QListViewItem

I think i might have combined the wrong versions of those packages, or downloaded files that weren\'t all right, i don\'t know, but now my old amaroK is gone (overwritten) and the new one doesn\'t work :(. I\'m afraid this isn\'t really an amaroK problem so i don\'t know if you can help me but i wouldn\'t know who else i should ask...

Do I have to install other versions of these packages (and will it be possible without urpmi saying \"Everything already installed\") or is there any other solution?

Thanks a lot
Pieter

(I\'m now using beep media player instead, but I must say I like amaroK better...)

Yes, its not an amaroK issue. I think you just need to upgrade your operating system to a newer version of Mandriva, sounds like you were using packages not intended for your version. Once you do so, you can just go to the Download page and grab the Mandriva package.
