Is it just me or is amarok leaving out compatibility with jack?
If anyone knows how to get amarok working with jack, PLEASE let me know. |

There\'s an ALSA plugin for Jack (not to be confused with the Jack plugin for ALSA). If you get it to work, please report on your experience.

No work needs be done. You just use the xine engine, and set this in your ~/.asoundrc :
[code:1]pcm.!default { type plug slave { pcm \"jack\" } } pcm.jack { type jack playback_ports { 0 alsa_pcm:playback_1 1 alsa_pcm:playback_2 } capture_ports { 0 alsa_pcm:capture_1 1 alsa_pcm:capture_2 } } [/code:1] Remember to start jackd, and restart amaroK after this. Of course, this assumes that ALSA and Jack are working fine otherwise. |

Er.. formatting\'s a bit off. Just remove the unneeded \';\' and superfluous spaces.

artsd can also be set to use JACK for output. and gstreamer has a jack-sink..

The gstreamer jack-sink isn\'t an option.

Well, I\'m using jack and oss2jack for skype. Just today tested it with Amarok and worked great.

Hi!
I can\'t get Amarok to work with Jack. jackd is running, xmms with jack-output works too, but i do not exactly know hot to configure amarok to send it\'s output to jack. the gstreamer-jack plugin seams to be broken in ubuntu/debian, and i don\'t know hot to setup xine-engine to use jack. Is it possible to send a \"copy\" of all alsa output to the jackd? This would help me, as i only need jack to get the played sound to write some analyser stuff. hope anybody can help me with this. thanks in advance Johannes |
