can be heard very clearly using XMMS / Realplayer, but sounds really bad in Amarok. The equalizer is disabled, I am using the gstreamer engine, and osssink for output.

Yeah, GStreamer engine currently has a problem with very low bitrate media. I\'m looking into this.
