Unable to create collection

Thu Oct 13, 2005 11:40 am
Hi everyone..

I just downloaded the new amarok 1.3 with apt onto my debian system..
And now my collection is empty.. So i always get this message in the context-sidebar to create a collection..
When I click on it and select the folder it seems to be scanning the files and in the bottom I see the statusbar.
After it finished, my collection is still empty and I get again the \"Please create collection\" thing in the sidebar..

Even if I manually open a file (for example /home/reto/Musik/Artist/Album/bla.mp3) it says that this file is not in my collection, although my collection should be the folder /home/reto/Musik with recursice scanning..

Although no files are imported in my collection .m3u playlists are imported and shown in the playlists-sidebar...

I already removed amarok and the config-file and reinstalled it.. it\'s still the same..

I hope I used the right terms, sice I use amarok in german..

Here the information about my amarok:
I use debian etch
Linux amd 2.6.8-2-386 #1 i686 GNU/Linux

I use my amarok 1.3 with gnome 2.10.2. KDE is version 3.3.2.
Amarok uses xine-output and sqlite as database..

Thanks for any information and tips..

Wrong SQLite library version. Downgrade it to 3.2.2, or upgrade amaroK.

I\'ve got the same issue, only my Amarok version is 1.3.3.
With sqlite 3.2.7 it is impossible to create the collection.
Which version will work fine? We\'re having this in PLD Linux Distribution, so I can correct our package to require proper version of sqlite, or - if someone guides me - write a patch that allows the usage of recent version.

Just use the builtin version of sqlite now.

Um, no it didn\'t. Sqlite 3 is required.

Downgrade it to 3.2.2,

can anyone tell me how to do this in Debian testing? Or would it be easier to upgrade Amarok?

Hm... "sqlite -version" says "2.8.16" .. but someone talked about "integrated" sqlite in amarok..? Well.. I don\'t know :)

Hi.. I use it with debian testing..
I have compiled amarok 1.3.3 from the sources and have installed sqlite 2.8.16 as said..
I think I just did "apt-get install sqlite" and not "apt-get install sqlite3".. although someone said that should not work?.. Well I don\'t know.. It actually runs now..

for debian, you can find a link to a downgrade version of SQLite in this thread:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=326562
this can be used until a newer amaroK version is released in debian testing.
