Amarok in Ubuntu 5.10

Thu Oct 20, 2005 6:35 am
Hi,

Im using Ubuntu 5.10. I don\'t have kde installed, but my favorite audio player is Amarok, so, I did an aptitude to install it. This also installed the kde basic (i think) kde libreries before install Amarok.
Almost everything works fine, but there are two problems with this Amarok:
1.- Te crossfading option is disabled. I use Gstreamer engine with alsasink output plugin. ¿How can I get the crossfading option enabled?
2.- If I move the control of the playing song\' time (the control in the bottom-right), Amarok crashes. Sometimes it tries to open kmail (obviously it can\'t, I dont have it because kde is not complete), and crashes.
Is this a problem of te distro integration?, I mean, related with executing amarok under gnome or something like that, or is it a bug?

I hope you can understand my English.
Thanks.

Ok, apparently nobody has have the same problem, or nobody understand my English :)
No problem, I answer myself

The problems is gstreamer. I installed the xine engine
aptitude install amarok-xine
selected it in Amarok (Settings->Engine->xine Engine), and now it works perfectly, it can play with crossfading and the seek bar doesn\'t make it crash anymore

I hope this can help people with the same problem.
