cant save tags on fat32 mp3s

Sun Nov 06, 2005 1:16 pm
Got amarok 1.3.5 on fc4 and problems with editing tags (artist, name, ... infos) on mp3s stored on mounted fat32 partition. With the same file on native linux partition there is no problem at all. I should also mention I have no special problmes when moving other files (pics, docs, ...) to and from mounted fat32.
Is there a special mount pref that i need to use when mounting fat32?

Another problem with mp3s is that sometimes the playlist stops after track nr x and i need to jump to the next manually.

thx

Forgot to write down:
the problem occours when i hit the save buton in Edit Information for 1-x tracks or whole album (that is after inserting new tags info)... amarok ends in an endless saving procedure and stops responding.

After the whole f****** day in the front of google......

updating the taglib does the trick. No problems at all with 1.4

So... taglib has probs with writing to fat32? strange...

Going down ... for sleep now :)

I\'ve been writing tags to a fat32 partition for months, with all versions of taglib - i can\'t seem to think this would be the problem. Try find some debug console output

I realised that the problem remains the same regardless the partition. same on linux, same on fat. Problems with tag info changing ((savingg) with 70% of mp3s.

I upgraded to 1.3.6 (rpm install), still the same: endless saving and amarok not responding when save button is hit.

any ideas?
