Amarok 1.3.5 keeps buffering to 100% then starts buffering all over again when trying to play streaming radio stations. Audio for SUSE Linux 10.0 with KDE 3.4.3 is working fine in KsCD and with the system. This is the only application I\'ve experienced issues with since updating to KDE 3.4.3. Settings for KDE control center sound system is set to ALSA, Amarok Gstreamer plugin selected is alsasink.

Hi!
I encountered the same problem. I use Mandriva 10.2 + GStreamer 0.8.11 (compiled from source) + amaroK 1.36(rpm). I\'ve recently upgraded KDE to 3.4.2 but to tell you the true I don\'t know wheter this operation caused problems. AmaroK was installed independently. Normal mp3 files are played without problems. Does anyone know how to deal with it? Diehard |

I have the same issue. I am using ubuntu 5.10. xmms plays fine, however I just get continuous buffering when I try a shoucast stream in amarok. Amarok looks great, I just wish it would play streams... can anyone help out?
Thanks, rmac |

Alright, problem solved and here is what I found out... it was pretty easy...
Go to http://amarok.kde.org/amarokwiki/index.php/MP3_on_Ubuntu_5.10 You need to install the MAD plugin for gstreamer, as it handles the mp3s. To do this you need to uncomment the repositories at /etc/apt/sources.list. deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu breezy universe deb-src http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu breezy universe This will enable the universe repositories, and then apt-get install or use synaptic to get the gstreamer0.8-mad So simple and yet took so much time... -rmac |

Thank you so much...my problems are now over.
