I have installed the Suse 9.3 Amarok package and all the listed(on this site)


* gstreamer >= 0.8.9
* gstreamer-plugins and gstreamer-plugins-default >= 0.8.8
* taglib >= 1.3.1
* libvisual



dependent packages including amarok-gstreamer Output plugin, Yet when I try to use the gstreamer engine to play mp3s I get an error tha,t I need to select an gstreamer output device. However, there are no devices in the drop down box under configuration in Amarok for engine Rts eenginee works fine for mp3s. Yes I have also installed the Suse Multimedia Pack 1 w/ kde mp3 support.

First off sounds like your using amaroK 1.2, you might think about upgrading to 1.3.

You could try installing the xine engine, a RPM for it might be at the same place you got amaroK.
