last.fm does not update

Fri Nov 18, 2005 12:06 am
My last.fm profile is not updating. I\'m sure I entered the correct password and I checked the box to send my played songs to last.fm, but it has yet to display any of the tracks I\'ve been playing for the past two days.

Is there anything I need to set in iptables? or my router?

I\'m using OpenSuSE 10.

According to the last.fm site, there are issues there. your submissions are being stored in ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/submit.xml

Mine are going through at the moment though, they just started after not submitting for about 12 hours.

I\'ve had this problem since I joined this past Saturday. This sucks, I was pretty excited about joining. :(
I wish they would put something in their main page.

Also, how does the submit.xml file work. Are the track stats only stored there when they cannot be sent to last.fm or does it function as a buffer?

Same problem here, and amaroK shows the error message, \"Could not connect to host 62.216.251.205.\"

Throwing Nmap at it, I get:

Interesting ports on 62.216.251.205:
(The 1666 ports scanned but not shown below are in state: filtered)
PORT STATE SERVICE
80/tcp closed http
443/tcp closed https

I\'m left assuming it\'s a problem on last.fm\'s side, and it\'ll be fixed whenever.

Also, my submit.xml file always remains empty (save for the default XML prolog and \"submit\" element.)

Oops, it seems I lost my post. In it, I said I\'ve been using the SVN (which is expected to have bugs along the way), and I updated it within a day before posting, but since it tell me it\'s 1.3.5, I\'ll be sure to update it again.

Ah, I feel bad posting many times in a row. Just wanted to say, my past SVN install of amaroK failed without my knowing it, thus I was running an older stable release when I thought I had an SVN build -- oops!

You can see the status of the submissions server here: http://www.last.fm/forum/21713/_/51596

Currently it says
Submissions Server

The server is currently: OFFLINE - Your tracks aren\'t currently being accepted and will be cached so that they can be submitted to your Recent Tracks list at a later time.

So watch this page...

Many thanks for the link, Oceanwaves! I just started playing with last.fm roughly at a time when the web site was extremely slow, then their submission server has been down, between these two, I\'ve stayed away from their site mostly, thus missing the forums.
