When changing track-information (like change artistname for an album with 13 tracks) this can go very fast, but approx. every second time it takes up to several minutes. CPU-usage does not go up !! sound stops completely while amaraok is saving the changes and the edit-dialog is not responding.
generally, even if it goes very fast, music is stopping for a few beats. |

Same trouble here. On fc 4.
Looking for solution for last 20 days but seems that ppl on forums are ignoring that... I\'m glad that I\'m not the only one with this prob. my situation: amarok 1.3.6 (compiled, not rpm) gstreamer engine, crashes when saving new info tags to mp3 files. Actually it goes into endless saving procedure when i hit the save button. (gdb) bt #0 0x00ab1402 in ?? () #1 0x00ebf221 in ___newselect_nocancel () from /lib/libc.so.6 #2 0x04440168 in QEventLoop::processEvents () from /usr/lib/qt-3.3/lib/libqt-mt.so.3 #3 0x044ae812 in QEventLoop::enterLoop () from /usr/lib/qt-3.3/lib/libqt-mt.so.3 #4 0x044ae736 in QEventLoop::exec () from /usr/lib/qt-3.3/lib/libqt-mt.so.3 #5 0x04495aa9 in QApplication::exec () from /usr/lib/qt-3.3/lib/libqt-mt.so.3 #6 0x081dc487 in main (argc=1, argv=0xbfa6a014) at main.cpp:94 |

well, amaroK ist not crashing here - it just takes long time but then its fine again. I found out that the music does not stop when I use the xine-engine. At least

Ok, I put it down in a wrong way.
It is really the same here. I never waited for lets say 5 or 10 minutes for amarok to finish tag saving. It just stops responding and I thought it is game over But actually, if i do wait for 5 or so minutes, amarok is back. Nevertheless, I still think it is not normal to wait 5 mins for tag saving. Or am I wrong? |

Well, it should never take that long, although ogg and flac files will take much longer than mp3. This is because using ogg and flac the whole file must be read and re-written because of the nature of the tag.

There are only mp3s in my collection. I also noticed that sometimes amarok doesn\'t have problems on a specific file(s), sometimes it does. In about 70% it does.
Can you please suggest how to fix this problem? |
