I\'m running 64bit gentoo using KDE 3.4.3 + amarok 1.3.6. I built amarok myself... here are the USE flags I used with gentoo...
media-sound/amarok-1.3.6 -arts +debug +flac -gstreamer +kde -kdeenablefinal +mp3 -musicbrainz -mysql -noamazon +opengl -postgres -visualization -vorbis +xine -xinerama -xmms My CFLAGS for compiling are \"-O2 -march=k8 -pipe\" with gcc 3.4.4 When I add my media & when I scan my collection it always stops... all the time at 43%. I don\'t see any relevant output from running amarok in console. There are jpg files in my mp3 dir and it seems to be adding them as the album art... Could that be the problem? It doesn\'t give any errors about it. There aren\'t any real relevant output because the last message I see was outputted around like 23% of the way. Also I am pretty sure it\'s the same spot because when I add media.. it\'s always the same mp3s that get added then it stops. |

also I can stop scanning or adding media at any point up until 43% mark. If I try to stop then it won\'t respond at all. But before that it responds promptly. At 43% it won\'t even shut down properly I have to kill the program. But it doesn\'t entirely lock up as I can still browse through the menus but nothing is saved because I can\'t shut down properly.

It could be a corrupted file that is tripping up the scanner. Is there anything in ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/collection_scan.log?
