I know that this at-first seems like the same post that everyone else is making, but I have installed both gstreamer-faad, and gstreamer-quicktime and I STILL cannot add m4a files to amarok (1.3.6).
I can add them under both the xine and arts plugins but neither of those work as well as gstreamer (not supporting equalizer etc). I\'m not even getting an error box when I try to add the m4a files like other people have reported, it just doesn\'t happen. I\'m using gstreamer 0.8.11. Anyone have any ideas on what I\'m missing? |

Are you talking about playing files or adding them to the collection?
Adding them to the collection is working in current svn version. Playing them should work with gst-quicktime and gst-faad installed. maybe run gst-register to make sure the plugins are recognized. |

I can\'t get them to add to the list or play (I know about the collection issue),
I\'ve tried the gst-register thing, still can\'t add them. The plugins are libgstfaad.so and libgstqtdemux.so right? |

I do have the problem with adding to collection, but am pleased to see the svn version has fixed this. I am new to linux and have had a brief look at the details of svn - and it seems like I can handle it. However, there is one major problem. I have no way of hooking my SuSE box up to the internet, and so have always installed any downloaded packages by downloading any files to a usb hard drive at work and installing from that on my net-less SuSE box at home.
Is there any way for me to get my collection up and properly sorted in amarok? |

You can download the nightly svn tarball and then compile it when you get home.

I\'m having trouble locating the svn tarball. I can find the source tarball from November 7th, and I can find the 21st November SVN .deb - but not the latest SVN tarball...
Does a 21st November tarball not exist? Am I being really stupid here after being out in the freezing cold too long? |

I think the Thanksgiving holiday in the US got the nightly process out of whack. Let me see what\'s going on with that.

After consideration, as I am only interesting in it fixing the compilation of my collection issue - I don\'t *need* an up to date release, if the current one fixes it as mentioned previously. All I need is that version! So, the 21st .deb file will do me fine (assuming that it will work on my pc when I get it home tonight...)
