Hi!
I\'m using slackware 10.2 (stable), linux 2.6.11-ck1y, amarok 1.3.6. Lately I got my comp overheated. I figured what\'s the problem, repaired the system, everything works just fine except for amaroK. Randomly (often at start) it hangs and hang whole system. Trying to solve that problem, I have reinstalled xine-lib, alsa, some other packages, recompiled amaroK but still it randomly hangs and the system goes with it (even mouse refuses to react any more). I tried to launch amaroK from terminal $ amarok & and just before a hang, there was no error or anything what could lead me to the point: what\'s the problem? I also checked my system logs (/var/log), but there\'s nothing there I also suspected that the memory went wrong, but after few hours of memtest64 there\'re no errors. I\'ll also add, that everyother application I launch (windows/linux), even games (americasarmy), work just fine! I don\'t know what to do, I feel confused about it Could you pls help me? |

Maybe you could run amaroK from within gdb and get a backtrace so we can see how it is crashing.

I\'ve got some problems providing backtrace, cuz when I issue
$ gdb -p pid_nr_of_amarokapp > amarok.log amaroK stops and hangs (systems still works this time) what do I do wrong? |

can someone help me?
I put into console: $ gdb -p `pid of amarokapp` (gdb) bt I get the printout, but I dont know how to write output immediately to the file! I also find troublesome, that when I run gdb, amarok stops until I detach it. So I can\'t really come to the point when program hangs with all the OS along. pls help me with this, then I\'ll be able to provide you with some informations. |
