Playing of a song skips (or stops) for a short moment after starting a song. This happens after I start playing a song and after playing the next song in the playlist.
After playing around with the settings, I\'ve found out that this behavior disappears when I change the \'default size for cover previews\' to 100 (used to be 150). So I guess the playing-process is disturbed by the scaling-process resulting in skipping at the beginning of a song. This may not be a problem on computers with fast CPU\'s. I have a Duron 1Ghz. Is it possible to give the scaling-process a lower priority so that it would not disturb the playing-process? |

I've run into the same sort of problem with amarok on ubuntu breezy running on a 1gHz P3. Changing the cover preview didn't work for me, but turning off crossfading seems to have done the job.

I too have this same issue. My crossfade is turned on, default size for cover preview was already set to 100 px.
I'm running SuSE 9.3 Pro with amaroK 1.4-beta 3 (April 13 2006 build date). Running on the xine engine version 1, framework version 20. I'll try stopping the crossfade and will repost if that worked. Aaron |

Same here. Stopped fading. I'll report if it works.

I've been waiting a few days (ok, weeks) and killing the crossfade does indeed fix this issue.

Hi:
I am experiencing the same problem with crossfade of 1000ms - sometimes one song will play for like a 0.5-2 seconds, then suddenly skip to the next song. If I click "previous track", the skipped song will play fine. Is anyone looking into this? Background: Ubuntu 7.04 (using KDE desktop instead of Gnome) Amarok 1.4.6 Crossfade of 1000ms; No fadeout; ModeBar plugin Cheers, LK |
