I\'d like to remotely control my amarok player via SSH. I see amarok supports command line controls, so I logged in via SSH:

talon:/home/ams # sux
(password accepted)
talon:/home/ams # amarok
: cannot connect to X server

I\'m using the latest version of Putty (downloaded yesterday). Any suggestions?

if you are using putty, then i assume you are on a windows machine?

In that case, you need to enable X forwarding in /etc/ssh/ssh_config file (or similar), and have an X window manager for windows
