amaroK v1.3.1 w/ gStreamer

When you unpause a paused mp3 file, you sometimes get a horrible very loud shrieking noise, which is currently making amaroK unusable for me.

The number of time you hear this noise seems to depend on the kind of music you\'re playing; I\'ve had it happen maybe every as often as 2/3 unpauses to as rarely as 1/10 unpauses.

If it\'s a problem with gStreamer, might anyone know of an alternative?

This is a problem with gStreamer. Use XINE instead.

note that Ubuntu linux doesn\'t download the XINE engine with the amaroK package; you have to search on synaptic for \'amarok\' and download (or apt-get if doing from command line) the amarok-xine package
