Somebody help here. Everytime a new song starts in amarok, the pcm channel on my sound mixer gets muted. This isn\'t happening in anyother application. Any thoughts on why?????

Which engine?
It happened to me, that the xine option \"remember volume\" (in the audio configuration) was set and the last time I used xine the pcm was muted and xine will reload this settings. Also you can specify a volume level to start with in this dialog (if you use the xine engine).

did you solve this problem? I\'m still having this issue everytime I start an mp3 song in amarok..

This is a known bug in the Helix libraries. Use the xine engine instead, it does not have this problem.
