untill now, Iv\'e only used mysql for my collection.when I try to use sqlite as database, I can\'t seem to create a collection. I press the build collection button, and it seems like he\'s doing something since the progress bar moves, but nothing really happens. I still get an empty collection.
even I know that this message is somewhat uninformative. I can tell you my disto is gentoo, amarok is 1.3.7 and kde is 3.5. anything beyond that, you\'ll have to tell me where and what to look for. and if my english was a bit confusing, then I\'m sorry. |

I had the same problem with a home partition mounted from a nfs (ext3) server sqlite cannot work on nfs directories, keeps telling that the database is locked.
I solved with a symlink from a local sqlite database to ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/collection.db |

Hey, this is actually the real solution to my problem.
Strangely enough, I had been using amarok under FC2 and FC3 fine for a while. Now I switched to debian at work as well and problems started... Is there any way to get sqlite to work with NFS mounted directories? Thanks, Sven |

Hi Sven,
no way! Sqlite doesn\'t (still) support exclusive locking of databases on nfs. Greetings m0nk
