I am using Ubuntu 5.10 with gnome and i have installed amarok 1.3.1 but i am going on internet thrue proxy. When i try to fetch cover or lyric i get error that i can\'t connect to website...

I am having the same problem.
I have gnome installed, as well as amarok.

I think that it should not be too hard to solve: If KDE was installed, adding the proxy settings via the control center should solve the problem.

However, for us gnome users, it should be as simple as adding the correct lines to the file ~/.kde/share/config/kioslaverc

The only problem is that I do not know what the correct lines are. 
Could someone please post the settings for a proxy with the following settings?
http://user:password@proxyurl.com:port/

I've had the same problem, and jamei you are right. The problem is the proxy. Amarok doesnt have their own proxy settings and they dont use the environment vars for proxy either. But amarok also doesnt use the proxy settings of the kde control center but the proxy settings of konqueror. So you have to install konqueror, adjust the proxy settings there and the cover and lyric fetching will work again.
