Important Notice: Fetching Lyrics

Sun Dec 18, 2005 10:29 pm
Due to changes at http://lyrc.com.ar in the way search results are displayed, that unfortunately didn\'t happen until *after* amaroK 1.3.7 was released, the lyrics lookup will not return results IN the amaroK lyrics tab. If you click the \"open in external browser\" button, you will see the lyrics for your track.

This has been rectified, and a bugfix version will be released soon.

Note: this affects ALL versions of amaroK (with the exception of svn) that have a lyrics tab.

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

No date set, it might actually take a bit until we\'ve accumulated a number of changes. Use 1.4 if you want it fixed right now.

amarok-svn is updated whenever a commit is made. (I\'m not sure what, if any, delay there is for it to hit anonymous svn). If you\'re compiling using get-amarok-svn.sh or kdesvn-build (or just checking it out manually), you should always get the latest version.

As for prebuilt packages, according to the downloads page, there are packages built for debian every day or so. Would this be what klik uses?

And, no, amarok-svn is not guaranteed to be stable all the time, being a bleeding-edge development version.

Currently it\'s rock solid though. Can\'t remember the last crash.

I\'m not ale to build it myself, I always get compile errors :(
And I just downloaded the latest rpm or my distro (suse9.3) but it seems like it\'s not fixed yet...rpm was created on Dec 10th

Why is this important message not shown up on the startpage or other Amarok-related pages? I think it would be helpful not to search for errors in the local installation.. :)

The patch is incorporated into amaroK Gentoo ebuild. All you need is to sync and emerge amarok-1.3.7-r1.

I\'ve modified the debian amarok 1.37-1 package including this patch file in debian/patches as Adeodato haven\'t included it already

Place this file in debian/patches/lyric_fetch.patch
