I can\'t get my ipod to be recognized. It works fine with gtkpod. It worked with the older amarok. I wanted to try out some of the new ipod features from the 1.4 release so I installed libgpod .3 as well as the svn version of amarok. Running Ubuntu breezy.
Below is what I see when amarok is started from a prompt. Any ideas? amarok: BEGIN: MediaBrowser amarok: [PluginManager] Plugin trader constraint: [X-KDE-amaroK-framework-version] == 16 and [X-KDE-amaroK-plugintype] == \'mediadevice\' and [X-KDE-amaroK-rank] > 0 amarok: [MediaBrowser] possible properties: (UntranslatedGenericName,X-KDE-amaroK-authors,X-KDE-amaroK-compatible,X-KDE-amaroK-email,X-KDE-amaroK-framework-version,X-KDE-amaroK-name,X-KDE-amaroK-plugintype,X-KDE-amaroK-rank,X-KDE-amaroK-version,Type,Name,Comment,GenericName,Icon,Exec,Terminal,TerminalOptions,Path,ServiceTypes,AllowAsDefault,InitialPreference,Library,DesktopEntryPath,DesktopEntryName,Keywords,Categories) amarok: [MediaBrowser] Apple iPod Media Device supports IPOD amarok: BEGIN: QValueList amarok: END__: QValueList amarok: [MediaBrowser] mediumAdded: (/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/volume_uuid_439C_E5A3,sda2,19G Removable Media,,true,/dev/sda2,/media/ipod,vfat,true,,media/removable_mounted,ipod_mount) amarok: [MediaBrowser] handler null for /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/volume_uuid_439C_E5A3 amarok: BEGIN: MediumPluginChooser::MediumPluginChooser(const Medium*, KGuiItem) amarok: END__: MediumPluginChooser::MediumPluginChooser(const Medium*, KGuiItem) - Took 0.057s amarok: [MediaBrowser] label=19G Removable Media amarok: [MediaBrowser] supported by amarok: BEGIN: MediaDevice* MediaBrowser::loadDevicePlugin(const QString&) amarok: BEGIN: static amaroK::Plugin* PluginManager::createFromQuery(const QString&) amarok: [PluginManager] Plugin trader constraint: [X-KDE-amaroK-framework-version] == 16 and [X-KDE-amaroK-plugintype] == \'mediadevice\' and [X-KDE-amaroK-name] == \'\' and [X-KDE-amaroK-rank] > 0 amarok: [PluginManager] [WARNING!] [static amaroK::Plugin* PluginManager::createFromQuery(const QString&)] No matching plugin found. amarok: END__: static amaroK::Plugin* PluginManager::createFromQuery(const QString&) - Took 0.046s amarok: [MediaBrowser] no plugin for amarok: END__: MediaDevice* MediaBrowser::loadDevicePlugin(const QString&) - Took 0.046s amarok: END__: MediaBrowser - Took 0.44s |

Hi, Phlegm!
ipod support is currently being reorganized. If you want more reliable ipod support then please try revision 490739, that was before the restructuring started. Do svn update -r490739 in order to get that. |

Thanks for the quick reply. I\'ve been using the amaroksvn install script to update. I tried reverting back to the version you mentioned but it didn\'t work either. I think I\'ll just keep updating each few days and see what happens. I can still do my actual updates with gtkpod for the time being.
