I have an older SVN installed on my laptop that works fine.
I compiled from SVN on my desktop since thats where my music actually is, so its easier to add music to my ipod from there. Same distro, taglib libraries are the same, but where on my laptop it scans and adds fine, this newer version on my dekstop gets this error on many of my mp3\'s:

amarok: [CollectionDB] Detected compilation: The Chess 50th Anniversary Sampler - 10:1
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x00000000006248b0 ***
amarok: BEGIN: void ScanController::slotProcessExited()

another one:

amarok: [CollectionDB] Detected compilation: The Chess 50th Anniversary Sampler - 10:1
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x0000000000624550 ***
amarok: BEGIN: void ScanController::slotProcessExited()
amarok: [ScanController] [ERROR!] CollectionScanner has crashed! Scan aborted.

both were mp3\'s with id3 tags. my m4a files all seem to read ok. I do all my Tagging in The Godfather, if it matters.

Make sure that you are using TagLib 1.4.
