mysql database encoding

Sun Jan 15, 2006 5:46 pm
I want to share amarok database using ObsidianMusic (A PHP script which reads data from amarok mysql database). Everything works fine exept cyrillic symbols. I use utf8_unicode_ci for mysql. In amarok I can read all symbols (encoding works fine), but I can\'t read them directly from database (There is something like \"Машина Времени\"). How does amarok store foreign alphabet symbols?
P.S. In tags the are encoded in CP1251, my locale is KOI8-R

I have found the solution. Binary encoding shouls be selected im mysql. There are some problems left, but they are ObsidianMusic specific.
