Some distributions like Fedora/FC5 and Mandriva Cooker are
no longer shipping .a and .la files in their packages. Somehow
amarok-1.3.x compiled fine with gstreamer-0.8.x (perhaps these
packages had the files) but amarok-1.4b1 fails to compile if these
files are missing although --shared is specified and static should
be no. I rebuilt the gst packages and included these in to make it
work.

Is this neccessary or is there a way to fix it?
