Hi all,
I\'m a bit confused as to the way media devices are now handled in 1.4b1. I had my ipod working acceptably in 1.3.x using pmount to mount and unmount my ipod, but I don\'t seem to be able to make that work under 1.4. amaroK bugs me to select a media device plugin once the ipod is connected, telling me that the K media framework is doing its job, but I don\'t see any thing besides Generic VFAT device on the configuration media device config dialog. I\'m using the pre-built Kubuntu Dapper (testing) packages; I\'m assuming that the plugin is simply not present and that I\'ll have to build amaroK from source myself. Thanks! |

I have the same issue! no iPod plugin... just generic VFAT.
I used the Guru RPMs for Suse 10 (64_x86). Can anyone help please? P. |

Your suspicions are correct: either you missed to install the packages for ipod support within amarok or your distributor simply didn\'t package it (e.g. because it needs an additional external dependency: libgpod).
You should check with your distributor if he is willing to provide what you need or compile libgpod and amaroK yourselves. |
