I posted this earlier in a reply to another posting in the livecd form, but, since I belive that posting should have been here, I\'m restarting the thread.
I cannot play CDs in amarok. The exact error is: \"Could not start process Unable to create io-slave: klauncher said: Unknown protocol \'audiocd\'\" I am using Fedora Core 4, amarok 1.3.8-1 from the standard Fedora Extras repositories built against KDE 3.5.1-01, and the gstreamer engine. I am able to play mp3s without a problem. I have tried rolling back to 1.3.7 without positive results. Other KDE applications are capable of playing the CD so the error seems amarok isolated. I am assuming, since amarok was working previously, that there was a KDE update that occurred that broke amarok. Recently, amoung other KDE packages, kdebase, kdemultimedia, and kdemultimedia-extras have been upgraded to 6:3.5.1-0.3.fc4, 6:3.5.1-0.1.fc4, and I6:3.5.0-0.lvn.1.4, respectively, if that is applicable. I like amarok, so I miss it and would like to determine a fix. Any help would be appreciated. |
