A nice day to all you amaroK fans out there.
I don\'t think it would be good to open a thread at bugs.kde.org for every problem I have. It could be that most problems will be solved till the final release, but I don\'t think that it could be wrong to let the developers know about them. Please let me say that amarok is the greatest audio player ever. Most people are telling, they can\'t find any bugs in amarok, but I\'m always finding a lot. I\'ll try to list up all bugs that I have found and some features that I would like to see. And yeah, please excuse my English 1. Sometimes (i.e. sometimes directly after startup) when I play a song (not the song at the top and in dynamic mode) it is removed from the playlist but not added at the top. Loading a new playlist (dynamic playlist) will cause a crash. 2. I don\'t know how the \"play entire album\" should work, but I have already thought about such a feature and I would have made it as a dynamic playlist, where all tracks from an album where added instead of only one. 3. Playing a song with a cue file and seeking in it will cause that wrong track information will be shown. (bug#121519) 4. When playing a song in a mix (with cue file) you can rate this song individual but when searching in the collectionbrowser you cant find the mix/song. 5. When showing the moodbar it seems that only the mood of the first song is shown. That\'s good but it is not changed, when the song changes. 6. I have requested a feature (bug#120398) but I didn\'t get an answer. Why? It\'s a very small change but improves the usability. 7. That\'s similar to another feature, I requested (bug#117444). Ok, it\'s a bit more work, but would really improve amarok. I don\'t want amarok to support video, but it should cooperate with other programs when reaching its limits. 8. Dragging items from the collectionbrowser is really cool (the covers are shown), but dragging a lot of files, makes amarok hang. That\' not cool. 9. The moodbar feature is nice, too. But it would be better, if the thread, that analyses the songs ran with a lower priority. Showing the moodbar in the playlistwindow would also be great. 10. You can create your own dynamic playlists, but you can\'t set up whether to use random mode or suggested songs. 11. I have problems with the soundquality of amarok (sometimes you can hear audio artefacts). It works better now, in older versions is was really bad. But with other players, like kaffeine I haven\'t got such problems. 12. When dragging items from the statistics and dropping over the playlist, sometimes an unlimited? amount of items are added to the playlist (only showing paths) and amarok crashes. 13. I tried to play an audio cd but it didn\'t work, the cd couldn\'t be found. 14. Umlauts seem to be another problem. When searching for something with umlauts in the collectionbrowser, the query will fail. Dragging albums with umlauts will fail, too. And when playing files from an album with umlauts amarok will show, that these songs weren\'t in the collection. 15. The support of vfat devices sounds good, but I couldn\'t get it working. I don\'t know what it should do, but I tried to get access to a media card (/dev/sda1). I use KDE 3.5.1 on SUSE 9.3. 16. And the last one. In the contextbrowser you can navigate now - very cool - but sometime the back link does not work. I hope that I can help you with that, good luck, Hessi James |

PS: I forgot to mention that I use xine engine (point 11). Sorry.
