Playing Read Media Files with Xine

Sun Feb 26, 2006 6:00 am
I am using amarok-1.4-beta with Mandriva-2006 and kde 3.4.2 that comes with it.

I am unable to play RealAudio files *.rm from a radio stream (http://kanga.college.columbia.edu/ramge ... st/wkcr.rm ).

I check .kde/share/apps/amarok/xine-config and the pointer to real codecs are missing. I enter the path of real codecs and close the file. If I try to play the stream, I again the error no plug-in available.... I look in the config file and it has been completely regenerated which removes (or doesn\'t enter) the path to the codecs.

I am unable to enter the bug at kde.org because my version of kde is \"old\", and the \"bug may have been fixed in a later version.\"

Can anyone please provide a solution?

Thanks in advance.

Additional info for the above post: It is the xine engine configured that doesn\'t work--the helix engine plays the stream, but it has some other bugs that make me not want to use it. And kaffeine plays the stream perfectly using the xine engine.
