Comments regarding 1.4 beta2

Hello fellow amaroKers,

Here to stick my two cents in regarding the new beta, which I compiled with KDE 3.5.1-0.1-fc4. Still loving the functional MusicBrainz, thanks to you all so much for fixing this functionality. This is one of the best features that amaroK has.
On to the next good feature; podcasting. I have begun to use amaroK to listen to my podcasts (Pacific Coast Hellway, Democracy Now!, Zencast), and managing them in amaroK is almost a snap. I say almost a snap because there is some difficulty in transfering files to a USB device still. I am not sure how to best document this difficulty, but it is difficult to determine the sequence of appropriate steps to take to transfer files from amaroK to a USB device that holds a SD card, that will go into my Palm and be played from there on TCPMP.
There is still no change to the problem that the player reads \"Never played before\" when I have most certainly played the track ad nauseum. Not that this is a critical bug, but I sure would like to persue my statistics again to see what I am listening to more of. Any possibility of a fix in the future?
I am also hoping for more documentation of the playback engines. This xine-engine, I like and it played my podcasts when gstreamer wouldn\'t, but I certainly would like to have more than one engine to choose from, just in case the media doesn\'t agree with the present engine. It is difficult for the average user to figure out how to build support for these other engines.
Is there any possiblity of including video playback in future versions? Just a thought....
Nonetheless, I love me some amaroK! Cannot wait to see the 1.4 version

Hello,
How did you manage to listen to your podcasts?
I try to do it simply by clicking on them using amaroK, but the sound is really strange -> I can not understand a single word of what the people on the radio are saying.
According to what you write, I guess I have to use the xine-engine. How do I do this? Is it possible to configure amaroK so that it uses the xine-engine only for podcasts?
Besides, I guess I have to install this engine. Because in the menu \"Settings -> Configure amaroK -> Engine -> Sound System\", the only choice I have is Gstreamer.

Thank you for your help,

Benjamin

PS (My Config):
Intel Celeron 32 bits
Ubuntu 5.10
Gnome 2.12.1
amaroK 1.3.1 (using KDE 3.4.3 ) <- \"Hmm. That\'s what is written in the menu. But, as I wrote before, I actually use Gnome. But I guess some KDE libraries have been installed when i installed amaroK using synaptic package manager.\"
