I am using amarok 1.4 beta 2 without any problem. (SuSE10, KDE3.5.1)
Consider that for this version it is only the xine engine suitable.

I have installed the xine version 1.1.1 from packman and, it should works if kaffeine does.

Did you have move your mp3 files without update the playlist?.

If you have realplayer installed, make sure it\'s version 10.0.6, and use amaroK\'s helix engine.
