iPod: files transfer, but don\'t show up

Hi guys

I\'ve been using amaroK for a month or so now..I liked iTunes back when I was a windows user, but I like this even more!

I\'m just having one problem though, and that\'s with the wretched iPod I was foolish enough to buy (I\'ve already had it replaced once, and have lost all faith in them, but anyway). Basically I wiped it (with iPod tools in Windows to avoid screwups) and started transferring files from scratch with amaroK. The first time, it worked fine: I transferred about 1.5GB of music, it showed up and played beautifully. Since then I\'ve had several attempts at copying more music over, and it just doesn\'t work. The iPod shows its little transfer symbol while it\'s copying over, and if you look at it in disk view the actual files are all on there. But somehow its not registering on the filesystem, so despite having heaps of music on there I can only access the original 1.5 gigs. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, it\'d be much appreciated!

Note: before I wiped the iPod I had successfully transferred some new music over, so it\'s not that it works the first time and never again!

Cheers,
Tim

Let me guess: you have a 4th generation or newer iPod and are using amaroK 1.3.*? There is a known bug in the kio_slave based ipod support that limits the number of songs visible on the iPod to 256 on 4th gen and newer devices. This is very unlikely to change in 1.3.*.
1.4 will have reworked iPod support based on libgpod, and this won\'t have this problem. If you\'re brave you could try 1.4beta2.
