amarok crashes on start

jman Karma 0	amarok crashes on start Fri Mar 17, 2006 1:56 pm Hi, I use amarok 1.3.8 on ubuntu linux, have been using it for some time with no problems. Suddenly it now crashes when I start it... it generally starts, it says \"running multiple background tasks,\" but freezes... after that it cannot be restarted. It does run correctly if run under other user accounts, so it seems the problem is in my local configuration or database perhaps? How can I fix this? Note - I use the mysql database backend. Thank you

Try to delete(move/rename) the collection.db (~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/) Good luck. Problem solved? I renamed the .kde/share/apps/amarok directory, and I also had to rename the .kde/share/config/amorkrc file. This enabled me to restart amarok and rebuild my collection. I would like to be able to restore my album covers and ratings now, though. I have the old mysql database backed up. Do I just need to restore the old amazon/images/statistics tables, or do I need to do something else?
