I am trying to install 1.4 (the same thing happens with 1.3) from the appropriate binary package to Mandriva 2006.
When I attempt to install amarok-1.4-beta2.2.20060gm.i586 using rpmdrake I get an error \"Some package requested cannot be installed: amarok-1.4-beta2.2.20060gm.i586 (due to unsatisfied amarok-engine-1.4) When I attempt to install (for example) amarok-engine-xine-1.4-beta2.2.20060gm.i586.rpm in the same way, I get an error \"Some package requested cannot be installed: amarok-engine-xine-1.4-beta2.2.20060gm.i586.rpm (due to unsatisfied amarok[==1.4]) At this point, seeing that I can\'t install either without the other already being installed, and noting that nobody else seems to have this problem and there\'s no obvious solution to it in the installation notes, I start to question my own sanity and run gibbering into the street. Although this time I thought \'if I flutter my eyelashes nicely in the forum, somebody might recognise my plight and be able to help me out. So - any of you gallants up for rescuing this damsel in distress? Rosie |

Don\'t know nothing about Mandriva, but as at seems to be rpm based you probably also have the tool \'rpm\' available. Just use \'rpm -Uhv amarok-engine-xine-1.4-beta2.2.20060gm.i586.rpm amarok-1.4-beta2.2.20060gm.i586\' to install the mutually dependent packages in one transaction.

I had the same problem.
I did: -Download and installed: libgpod0-0.3.0-0.1.101mdk.i586.rpm, and libgpod-0.3.0-0.1.102mdk.i586.rpm. -Then in the folder where are libamarok, amarok, amarok-scripts, amarok-engine-xine. and there type rpm -i --nodeps *.rpm. I hope this could helps you. I tried rpm -Uhv but I had the same problem. Try this after you compile andbuild the rpms packages. |
