When mounting media devices in 1.4beta2, does the device have to mounted in some particular place, or is amarok supposed to auto detect where it\'s been mounted?
Bacause I have set up a device plugin for my device (VFAT-thingy), but when I try to connect, I get the message telling me that I need to mount the device, even though it is already mounted under /media/flash. Any ideas? |

Aww, come on. I know someone reading this must have gotten the media device-thingy working with the vfat plugin...?

I use an Ipod with amarok and have found that, in 1.4beta2 at least, I believe it is necessary for the device to be mounted at /media/ipod . I guess I don\'t know if it _has_ to be mounted there, but it works there.
Sorry not more responses to help you out! Not a very busy board... |

I tried mounting it under /media/ipod, but amarok still tells me the device has to be mounted. But thanks for the suggestion!

Configure -> Collection -> Tick Folder Thingy?
Not sure may work |

I have my iAudio X5L mounted to /media/IAUDIO and it works perfectly. It should autodetect your device if its UMS (Universal Mass Storage). If it is an iPod make sure you used the ipod use flag in gentoo or made the ./configure use the ipod flag. I think it requires libgpod as well (my ebuild says it requires libgpod 0.4.0 and up or a current svn snapshot but Im not sure if its right). Make sure its mounted already as well.
