When I update some tags of my songs and update collection, I still can see old entries in collection database.
I have a lot of old \'genre\' smart-playlists with no songs in them e.g. \'latin\', \'latin music\', \'latins\'. I changed songs with these genre tags to \'latino\' long ago, but I still can see these old genre-playlists. That really annoys me. The only way I\'ve found to solve this is to delete amaroK database from /.kde/ dir and create new database. But then I lose everything - playcount, score, rating, everything... Any suggestions? How these old database entries can be removed? |

Not sure if this helps, but have you tried \"Rescan collection\" from the tools menu? This seems to reread every file in the collection and adjust the database (without loosing existing entries). At least this adjusts externally changed tags for me.

\"Rescan collection\" updates externaly changed tags correctly. But it doesn\'t help me – I still can biiig list of emty playlists in \'genres\' smart-playlists section.

I have just found that \"Rescan collection\" solves my problem, but only after closing and opening amaroK again.

Fair enough. Looks like, that amaroK generates the smart playlist at the startup. I think this is just fine, otherwise every time you load the playlist tab would cause a busy system.
