Dunno what\'s going on. I\'ve just installed the beta version. On startup amaroK points out: \'The Helix Engine requires the RealPlayer(tm) or HelixPlayer libraries to be installed. Please make sure one is installed, and adjust the paths in \"amaroK Settings\" -> \"Engine\".\'

Always when I\'m trying to open these settings amaroK crashes. Help me, dearests, plzzzzz. :)

This was a bug in the beta2 version that has been fixed in svn. The problem is that realplayer or helixplayer were not found on startup - one of them is required for the helix engine. The engine doesnt use the player itself, but it needs the plugin/codec and core libraries that are shipped with them. If you want mp3 or realaudio, better get realplayer - other than that they are the same (for sound anyway).

Install one of them and go back to the config dialog (on some distros you will need to run ldconfig). Then start amarok, go to the config dialog, and enter the 3 paths that are asked for there. If they do not exist, you will be back where you started.

Alternatively, install one of them and rebuild. Before you configure, make sure you have realplayer or helixplayer in your path - it needs to find it to locate the libraries. Then it will set your default to the correct path.
