Amarok on dapper

Fri Apr 14, 2006 1:49 pm
Hello

I have installed amarok on the new ubuntu dapper, it is using the xine engine. But it only plays wma files and such, not mp3. And i cannot install amarok-gstreamer causa it gives me and error beacuse of kdelibs.

What should i do ?

Thanks in advance.

I also have this problem.  I have installed all the gstreamer packages and the amarok-engines package, but it still doesn't appear in the engines list.

I have Amarok running on Dapper, running the xine engine.
Fore mp3 playback, make sure to install the libxine-extracodecs package from the multiverse repository:

deb http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper universe multiverse

I don't know what's up with the gstreamer engine, I didn't try it on dapper, yet (and I probably won't since the xine engine always worked way better for me)

as reported all over the forums and the amarok main page, as well as in various release publications, the gstreamer engine is not included in amarok 1.4.0a
