Hi,
I\'ve amarok-1.4.0-beta3 running on Suse 10.1 compiled with helix, xine, exscalibar, libgpod and with external sqlite-3.3.5. It works, but take a look here: ds 7559 70.5 46.0 556936 477620 ? Rl 21:22 99:51 amarokapp ds 7584 0.5 1.3 115208 14072 ? SLl 21:23 0:44 amarokapp ds 7585 0.3 1.2 114304 13296 ? Sl 21:23 0:27 amarokapp ds 7587 0.0 0.3 84792 4080 ? S 21:23 0:00 amarokapp ds 7588 0.0 0.3 84792 4028 ? S 21:23 0:00 amarokapp ds 7596 0.0 0.3 84792 4080 ? S 21:23 0:00 amarokapp ds 7597 0.0 0.3 84792 4028 ? S 21:23 0:00 amarokapp As you can see amarokapp runs 7!! times, using 70.5% of CPU and 46% of Memory, just around 550 MB. That can\'t be normal. Any suggestions would be nice. Oh, machine is an athlon-xp 3000+, kernel 2.6.16.5, amarok-engine is helix. Thanks m0nk

Hi,
I\'ve changed engine to xine. No more gaps, only 3 threads, but CPU load still at about 50%. Greetings m0nk

Surely not normal. It\'s at 5% here with amaroK maximized (might be a lot lower when minimized) at an Intel 2GHz.
I do not want to be offensive, but could that be related to a Linux distribution being still beta? Furthermore, I heard about problems with gcc 4.1 (which should be standard in Suse 10.1). marcel |

Hello marcel,
don\'t think it\'s because of SUSE\'s beta, btw. it\'s RC1.5 . Symptom appeared from amarok beta2 to beta3, same distro same compiler. At the moment amarok is running minimized with one thread and: ds 31178 47.8 38.8 599652 402844 ? RLl 11:22 62:48 amarokapp It\'s the first version, running while online. So perhaps it\'s because of lyrics and wikipedia stuff? Another point is the annoying \"working\" cursor (exscalibar?). Greetings m0nk
