CDDB using xine engine

Tue Apr 25, 2006 6:46 pm
Hi, I read in a changelog that the Xine engine now supports CDDB lookups on audiocds but I cant see this option. Anyone can help me?

I use amaroK 1.4 beta3 on Ubuntu Dapper

Thanks! :)

It´s strange. I have this:

Default device: /dev/hdd
CDDB Server: freedb.freedb.org Port: 80
CDDB Cache dir: /home/pablo/.cddb/

Before 5 mins reading the AudioCD it doesnt show anything on the playlist but in ~/.cddb I have this (the disc that I´m trying to listen):

pablo@vespertine:~$ cat .cddb/rock/fb10e913
# Revision: 4

Hi,

It´s strange. I have this:
pablo@vespertine:~$ cat .cddb/rock/fb10e913

Try setting the cachedir to /home/pablo/.cddb/rock
I don\'t know why, but I had that problem, too. I thought xine also uses the "rock" etc. subfolder, but either that\'s not true or it\'s a bug.

Regards,
Andreas

as I recall, someone was working on a proxy for cddb lookups if you were behind a router. Hopefully someone will paste the link here, cos I don\'t have it bookmarked.
