The fix depends on the reason why it is failing.
Did you ever put music on your ipod (after purchasing it, after doing an ipod restore)? Then you should check if you actually have permissions to create files on your device. If it is an empty ipod, then the reason for amaroK failing to create the lockfile could be that it tries to create it in a non-existing directory. This is fixed in current svn. Upgrading to a first release candidate that should arrive shortly should fix that. |

hello!
I have sort of similar problem with the nano ipod. After I mount (manually and first time) ipod it says: Media Device: iPod mounted at /mnt/ipod already locked! This problem is common with subfs/submount. But it could also be that your iPod is connected twice, once because of being manually connected and a second time because of being auto-detected thereafter. If you are sure that this is an error, then remove the file /mnt/ipod/iPod_Control/iTunes/iTunesLock and try again. I can succesfully read/write ipod with slaves or gtkpod but have this problem with amarok. 1.3.8 amarok also worked fine (I know that now amarok uses same library as gtkpod). Deleting the lockfile above and pressing connect button crashes amarok. I automatically sent bug report. Any ideas? |
