I have an interesting issue. For some reason, when I start amarok, the process X (the xorg process) consumes 100% of my CPU and renders my desktop useless. I'm not sure I can use any of the debugging options mentioned on the wiki since the machine becomes unusable, so I'm hoping someone has some insight.
My environment is as follows: Gentoo Linux (using the "~x86" masked package for amarok) with Fluxbox and Xorg It's something weird with Fluxbox. If I fire up KDE, it works just fine

Do you use "Now Playing Signature" script?

No, I don't even get that far. Amarok comes up and my X session pegs the CPU and renders my session useless.

Hey, I have this same problem with a KDE desktop.
I reckon it's something to do with the collection scanner. It doesn't completely lock the X-Session, just makes it so slow as to be almost useless... severe lagging. Any help would be great? Joe |
