libvisual is not recognised

Sat May 20, 2006 3:11 pm
Hi,

I installed the latest version of libvisual (libvisual-0.4) and libvisual-plugins.

Then I run configure for amarok 1.4:

Code: Select all
...
checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config
checking for libvisual >= 0.2.0... checking tunepimp/tp_c.h usability... yes
checking tunepimp/tp_c.h presence... yes
...
...
= The following extra functionality will be included:
 =   + xine-engine
 =   + XMMS Visualization Wrapper
 =   + Konqueror Sidebar
 =   + MusicBrainz Support

It's neither found nor not found
Anyway, it's not included at the end.

libvisual seems to be installed properly:
Code: Select all
[~]% pkg-config libvisual-0.4 --libs --cflags
-I/usr/local/include/libvisual-0.4  -L/usr/local/lib -lpthread -lm -ldl -lvisual-0.4

What can I do?
Thank you!

You should downgrad to libvisual 0.2 because there was an api change in libvisual and therefore amarok can't handle the new one.
So it should be a check for = 0.2.0 instead of >= (i think it's already known to the devs)

Thanks. That worked.

But well... it's not really that cool like what I've seen in winamp at a friend

However, it's not bad either.

Is there anything to configure?
For example it would be cool if the plugin would change automatically after some time.
