Database gone crazy in 1.4

Thu May 25, 2006 10:24 pm
I recently updated to ff 1.4 using the guru suse 10.1 rpms. Everything seemed fine but the other day after I was changing some tags around (they were in hebrew) everthing went nuts. For example in the collection browser under Arcturus there is listed the three Arcturus albums I have plus albums from random bands that shouldn't be there. When I drag one of the albums to the playlist it shows the artist as the Dandy wharols the album as the Divine wings of tradgedy (A symphony X album) and the song titles for the Acrturus albums. It seems to be playing the correct songs from acrturus. My whole collection has gone crazy like this. whats going on?

have you tried doing a manual rescan? Tools menu, rescan collection.

If that doesn't fix things (and assuming you're using the built-in sqlite), you might need to remove (or backup) your ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/collection.db file and start with a clean db. You will lose any stats and ratings you've built up, so this is a last resort.
