Hello together,
i am new in this forum, so hello everybody! ![]() I run amarok 1.04a on a gentoo amd64 with mysql support. I have an alsa sound card: Creative Audigy 2 and my amarok uses the xine engine. So far so good, but amarok doesn´t play any soundfile. When I load titles in my playlist, amarok runs through it and stops after the last file. 10 Titles are "played" in 2 seconds. I hear nothing Everytime when I change the sound device in the configuration dialog amarok kicks off ![]() It stands per default on "alsa" Whats the problem??? xine, vlc, xmms, kde all have sounds, only amarok not ![]() Greetz PontI |

If you want to listen to mp3-files, mad must be enabled

I too am having this problem in Kubuntu Dapper, is there any fix I can get on this?, or would I have to recompile?. Or perhaps get a deb with the mad thing enabled

You need a package with enabled mad, due to licensing problems, this isn't done my Kubuntu by default.
