Amarok over samba

Thu Jun 15, 2006 4:50 pm
Ok, my sister wants to be able to use her ipod while stealing from my extensive music collection.  So I set up amarok for her and made my Music directory a samba share and mounted it with smbfs.  When I had her box hooked up with wires to mine the collection building was cool and fine.  Now that it is in her room and connected via wireless and the share seems fine and files from the share but when I try and build collection it goes throught he motions but never actually adds any files to the library.  When I just add media to the playlist it adds them, but it doesn't do tags and it locks up after 12% or so.  I realise that the share is high latency, but for my needs it should be fine I just need it to work.

If men could get pregnant, we'd learn the true meaning of "screaming nancyboy wuss"
