i use amarok 1.3.1 with mandriva 2006, which is nice, i like the program but it crashes quite often. so i'd like to upgrade to 1.4.
unfortunately this is much more difficult than i expected installing the rpm: urpmi amarok-1.4.0-1.1.20060mdk.i586.rpm tells me i need libamarok0-1.4.0-1.1.20060mdk.i586.rpm. when i try urpmi libamarok0-1.4.0-1.1.20060mdk.i586.rpm i get the message i need amarok-1.4.0-1.1.20060mdk.i586.rpm first??? humpff? quite confusing imho. ok, then i try to build from source. i get the message: checking for libXext... no configure: error: We need a working libXext to proceed. Since configure can't find it itself, we stop here assuming that make wouldn't find them either. BUT: [xxxxxx@xxxx amarok-1.4.0]$ locate Xext /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6 /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6.4 any help please. googling makes no sense at all kmd |

Try installing both the rpms with the same command.
I'm pretty sure there's another thread on here that has the exact command to use. EDIT: this one... http://amarok.kde.org/forum/index.php/t ... 319.0.html
