Hi,

after yesterday svn checkout number of artist in my collectionbrowser has grown several times. It seem its related to commits http://svntalk.pwsp.net/project/amaroK/revision/552311, maybe http://svntalk.pwsp.net/project/amaroK/revision/552135 or maybe some other commit. Behaviour, how Amarok works now is different compared to behaviour before 3 days. See this screenshot http://img209.imageshack.us/my.php?image=colection1bz.png.

So I have set Collection Browser to group by Artist/Album ... and lets have one big (4CD) album  "The Best Smooth Jazz...Ever" with dozens of artist.

Now I dont know, if this new behaviour, where all artist, also artist with only one song from album which is marked as compilation are added directly to Collection Browser is really what user wants and is better.... or is it bug.

If its not bug, is there any way, how can I "hide" that artists? Its really bad for me to have them all listed directly in Collection Browser. Few days ago, this album after marking as compilation was sitting in Various artist and I was happy. 

Solution like editing tags for that album (respectively deleting info about artist from tag is not solution) ... I have many albums - compilations.

I know, that its SVN, and things should be broken, but in this case, I am not sure, if its feature.

have you tried to right-click on the album name and activate "mark as compilation".

I've amarok-svn (from today) with "old" layout running. Had a wrong tag in one song (Sisters of Mercy instead of Sisters Of Mercy) of the album; and zack I've got an unwanted compilation. So, I think it works in this version. I don't have any compilations, so I can't control it really. Perhaps you should give this svn a chance (if the "old" layout is ok for you ).

I checked today already, but still my collection consists of dozens artists with only one song ... this makes me mad 

But strange that I am the only one, nobody other complains.

thanks for your feedback. I asked also on #Amarok and it was mentioned there, that its new feature, its something user wants.

But I still cant believe it, and after searching bugzilla, I found there http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116127. I tried comment on that FIXED bug.

I can see why people want this feature. Although, I am not among them.
But it is a little tricky, because you probably want compilation tracks by artists you have other songs from listed, but not from single-artist compilation songs.

I just posted this problem on the amarok mailinglist and added my comment to the bug. In my eyes the new behaviour isn't an improvement either

Not sure if this is easy, but maybe this is really a feature you want to turn on and off.

OK, it was changed back in latest SVN. compilations are now exclusively unter Various artists.

Great, great, great .... my collection is back, number of artists were cutted down from 193 to 42. Thanks to everybody, who participate in solving this "problem". Complains were very  effective
