First of all, thank everyone so much for the work they have done on Amarok. 1.4 works incredibly well with my ipod; I am very pleased.
But, since I updated to 1.4 SVN-20060601, the Artist (from Wikipedia) tab doesn't work. Whenever I click on the tab, it says "Fetching Wikipedia Information..." and then nothing shows up. I can click on the "open in external browser" button and that works, but it won't show in Amarok. I am running KDE 3.5.2 on PCLinux OS with the xine 1.1.1 engine. Any ideas? Also, when I use the lyrics tab, everything displays as is should. I am using the Lyriki-Lyrics v0.6 script. But, when I click on the open in external browser button for lyrics it shows me this folder in the browser, file:///home/scott/.kde/share/apps/amarok/scripts/lyriki-lyrics/. Does anyone have any idea why I am having these troubles? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is there a script that I need for the artist tab to work? The lyrics tab needed a script. This is driving me nuts; I just can't figure it out.

I went into my older SVN packages to check this out. This was an issue around the date mentioned (the closest I have is june second, rather than first), but has since been fixed. Try upgrading to either 1.4.1 beta1 or a more recent SVN build.

I have the same problem using 1.4.10. When I try to get artist, song or album info i get the list of alternative languages I can search, but still none of theme works. When I open links on external browser though everything works. Any help?

I have the exact same problem. Have you found a fix? |

If it is of any help I also noticed that from a fresh install it only finds info for the first search I make and then nothing. Ex. I played a song and asked for artist info and it found them. But that worked only for first search on a fresh install.
Someone from devs can help? |

Same problem here since upgrading with Kubuntu using KDE 3.5.10 / Amarok 1.4.10 (build oct 13 2008). The artist tab wiki fetch returns nothing but a list of languages which all return nothing. Search works ok too. -- Bill

I am having the same issue which I posted here; http://amarok.kde.org/forum/index.php/t ... 299.0.html
What I have discovered is that when I have an artist whose wiki page does not have the language box in the lower left, it works fine. Any page with that language box, and that is all that gets displayed in the context browser. I noticed this actually start about three weeks ago on an installation of Amarok that had been working perfectly up to that point. So this seems to be an issue with a change in the format of wiki entries. Lee |

Shame that devs don't help for older versions...

Wikipedia changed their page code a little, so Amarok don't know how to parse it any more. Launchpad bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/316140/

I'm glad that there is a fix, because I use this wonderful feature of Amarok All The Time.
However, I'm not capable of doing the fix. Any possibility of getting that into updates? I wouldn't have upgraded if I had known I was going to lose artist lookups. |

The current issue has nothing to do with you having updated your Amarok. Wikipedia changed their pages' code, so Amarok now just can't recognize where articles' content starts.
