Amarok and asf streams

Sun Jul 09, 2006 11:27 am
I can't play http://live.mediaserver.kataweb.it/radiodeejay with amarok.
This stream is in asf format as you can see from this mplayer output:
Code: Select all
...
ASF file format detected.
Clip info:
 name: Radio Deejay
 author: Kataweb S.p.A.
 copyright: Elemedia S.p.A.
...

Then, I've do some tests:
1) I tried to play this stream with xine (directly), using this command
Code: Select all
xine http://live.mediaserver.kataweb.it/radiodeejay

But doesn't work (there is no plugin, it says).
2) Then I use this:
Code: Select all
wget http://live.mediaserver.kataweb.it/radiodeejay -O -|xine stdin:/

And it works for me

It seems to be a xine's engine problem fetching asf data via http protocol. Other format like mp3 works great (xine http://radio.dyne.org:8000/ondarossa.mp3 http://radio.dyne.org:8000/ondarossa.mp3).

Can someone help me?

P.S.: I use kubuntu "dapper drake" 6.06 TLS
