I upgraded yesterday to Amarok 1.4.1 and tried to stream from last.fm but I have no sound... it connects play a first song (osd ok but no sound) then stop.
If I play a local file , sound is ok ... so hardware is not the problem Help ! Oh yes , I'm on Kubuntu 6.06 |

Yup, I've got this same problem. It acts like it's playing (progress bar moves, OSD appears, etc.) but no sound comes out. Local works perfectly.
I get the same problem with both the Xine and Helix engines. I'm using ALSA output and amaroK 1.4.1. I couldn't tell you if it's a new problem to this version because I only signed up to last.fm just now!

Likely its some sort of proxy issue. Make sure your xine is set to not use a proxy in the engine configuration.

Nope, no proxies. All the fields are blank except for "port" (which seems to reset to 80 if I clear it).

It seems to have fixed itself... Although neighbour radio still doesn't work properly. It says it's playing but the progress bar doesn't move...
And yes, Help > About Amarok says it's definately 1.4.1 (no betas anywhere). Indeed, it's amarok-1.4.1-r2 according to Portage. Hmm, maybe it's a Gentoo thing - their changelog for Amarok says they've renamed the lastfm.protocol file - maybe they didn't do that properly...

Hi,
I'm having the same problem here with last.fm. It worked perfectly from the start, but now It just play half or less of the song and no sound afterward. I updated to version amarok-1.4.7-5.fc7 and I have amarok-extras-nonfree-1.4.4-1.lvn7 installed but no luck. I have no issue with audio,mp3 play using this but last.fm I'm using fedora 7 with the kernel 2.6.22.9-91.fc7. Please advice how to resolve this Thanks in advance Hirantha |
